With the development of Chinese infrastructure, the consumption of silicate building materials has been increasing yearly. Meanwhile, the requirements of sustainable development for silicate building materials are also increasing due to the strengthening of people's consciousness of environment protection. The aim of this book is to publish the latest research progress on silicate building materials, which have been discussed on 2013 Annual Meeting of Chinese Ceramic Society's Building Materials Branch. Moreover, this book will provide the platform for researchers all over the world to exchange their ideas on building materials. This collection contains 73 papers from the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Chinese Ceramic Society's Building Materials, Professional Committees of Stone & Aggregate and Utilization of Solid Waste, held in November and December of 2013, in Wuhan, China. Papers focus on silicate building materials and their sustainable development, including cement-based materials, asphalt-based materials, and other materials and technology, and specific aspects like performance, preparation, treatment processes, technological conditions, environmental impact analysis, life cycle assessment, properties, and effects. Paper authors are engineers and other scientists from China. - Ceramics. - Material science. - Sustainability.
